Our Vocal Foundations course is designed to support you in discovering, developing and building your unique singing voice. Across 12 weeks, you’ll explore the foundations of healthy vocal technique, musicality and performance while developing greater confidence in your own voice.
Each session combines group singing, solo performance, discussion and practical exercises. You’ll receive guidance and feedback from an experienced vocal tutor, helping you understand your voice, identify your personal goals and develop effective strategies for continued vocal growth.
The first five weeks focus on key areas of vocal development, including vocal health and anatomy, practice strategies, rhythm and movement, pitch and vocal registers, and tone and colour. The following seven weeks move into a workshop and coaching format, giving you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned to songs of your choice and develop your performance skills.
You’ll work on both solo and group repertoire throughout the course, culminating in an informal performance where you’ll perform a solo song alongside three group songs.
The course is designed to give you a strong foundation for further vocal development and, if you wish to continue your studies, progression to ICMP’s 12-week Advanced Vocals course.
